The LEARNX national conference recently discussed social learning in the workplace – it provides a fresh perspective for employee learning and skills development. Although it’s not a new concept in a post COVID environment it should have greater prominence in an organisations training and development strategy.
In 2018 I presented this concept to delegates attending the 2018 Institute of Hospitality in Healthcare National Conference in Sydney. To illustrate this concept, I presented the slide relating to Food Service Assistants (attachment). The IHHC has been slow to respond to new approaches to workplace training.
