SA Health has unveiled two new food safety documents for South Australian food businesses providing meals to vulnerable populations (i.e. aged care): Food Safety Guidelines For Food Service To Vulnerable Persons and Guideline for the Control of Listeria in Food Service to Vulnerable Persons.
At a recent briefing to the IHHC, SA Health informed attendees on the purpose and content of these Guidelines. A soft educative approach is being taken now to alert relevant industry sectors such as aged and acute health care of these new requirements and then there is an expectation of compliance.
